Data we collect and why
The table below lists each type of data we process, its purpose, and the legal basis under GDPR Article 6.
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising identifier (IDFA) | Deliver personalised ads, measure ad effectiveness | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), obtained via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt |
| Anonymous in-game events (session times, merges, milestones, ad impressions, premium upgrades) | Understand how players use the game; improve features and performance | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): improving the product without identifying individual users |
| Non-personalised ad delivery data | Show contextual ads to users who declined ATT | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): funding free access to the game |
| Local premium entitlement flag | Remember that you have purchased Premium Edition | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): necessary to fulfil your purchase |
Data we do not collect
- Your name, email address, or contact information
- Your precise or approximate location
- Your camera, microphone, or contacts
- Health or financial data
- Data from other apps on your device
Advertising
The free version of the app displays interstitial ads via Google AdMob (Google LLC). If you granted ATT permission, personalised ads based on your device identifier may be shown. If you declined, only contextual (non-personalised) ads are shown.
Premium users are never shown advertisements.
You can withdraw ATT consent at any time: iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking > Orbit Restore.
App ads transparency. Orbit Restore publishes an app-ads.txt file for advertising partners to verify authorized seller information.

Internet connectivity
The free version of the app requires an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular) to play. The app monitors your network status solely to enforce this restriction. No connectivity data is transmitted to us or any third party.
Purchasing Premium Edition removes this restriction and enables full offline play.
In-app purchases
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. We store only a local flag on your device confirming Premium status.
Third-party processors
We share data with the following processors acting on our behalf:
| Processor | Data shared | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC (Firebase Analytics) | Anonymous in-game events | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google LLC (AdMob) | IDFA (if consented), contextual ad data | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Apple Inc. (App Store / StoreKit) | Purchase verification | apple.com/legal/privacy |
International data transfers
Google LLC is based in the United States. Data processed by Firebase Analytics and Google AdMob may be transferred to and stored on servers outside the European Economic Area (EEA). These transfers are safeguarded by Google's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission. For details, see business.safety.google/gdpr.
Data retention
- Firebase Analytics data: retained for 14 months by default, then automatically deleted by Google.
- IDFA: not stored by us; used in real time by AdMob for ad targeting.
- Local premium flag: stored on your device until you delete the app or reset it.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights:
- Access (Art. 15): request a copy of data held about you.
- Rectification (Art. 16): request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure (Art. 17): request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").

- Portability (Art. 20): receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Object (Art. 21): object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: withdraw ATT consent at any time via iOS Settings, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
